Instructions for Adding
Your Own Pages
Back to
the Instructions Menu
You must have an HTML editor like
FrontPage in order to do this. (Or you must know how to program in HTML.) You can print these instructions by using your
browser's print button.
- From the main menu, click on Customize Agent
Information 1
- Click on the button - Add Your Own Web Pages
- Click on Add myfile.html
- In the text box below the radio button you
just checked, enter the text for the new drop-down menu item that will appear in Home
Realty Advisor. An example might be "See My Additional Pages" (Do not include
the quotes.)
- Click on Close.
- Click Close again to close the Customize
Agent Information 1 screen.
- Click on Copy Files to Setup Folder (top
right button).
- Wait for the confirmation. Click on OK to
close the confirmation screen.
- Click on Test Your Changes
- When Home Realty Advisor starts, click on the
drop-down menu on the top right portion of the screen.
- Notice your new drop-down item. It will be
the last one.
- Select it. You will see the generic My File
screen.
The screen you're looking at is named
myfile.html. It is located on C:\Program Files\Home Realty Customizer\All Files (as
long as you installed the customizer on the default folders). What you need to do now is
edit this file using an HTML editor like FrontPage.
- Edit myfile.html however you want. You might want to make
this a menu with links to other files. See how we did it - click here. We called ours
"testimonials".
- Every new file that you add and every image that you add must
be placed on C:\Program Files\Home Realty Customizer\All Files. When you create your links
to these files, you must only link to the file itself. Do not include any other path
information, For instance, one of your links might look like this - <a
href="myfile2.html">. Do not make it like this <a
href="C:\Program Files\Home Realty Customizer\All Files\myfile2.html">. The
reason is obvious. When you give the software away, the people you give it to will not
have this folder on their computer.
- Once you save all of your files on C:\Program Files\Home
Realty Customizer\All Files, you are ready to test your changes. Go back to the customizer
and click on Test Your Changes.
- Make sure you can get to all of your new pages.
- From the main menu in the customizer, click on Files to
Floppy/CD/Web.
- Click on Create Self-Extracting File.A new screen will
display. Click on Create File. You will see a message: File creation was successful. The
new self extracting EXE file is located in: C:\Program Files\Home Realty Customizer\Setup
Files\Setup.exe.
- Now you can make diskettes or CD's just like you normally do.
- After making one CD or diskette, install the software on
another computer (one that does not have the customizer on it).
- Install the software and test it - especially your new pages.
Make sure you can get to everything.
- If you can not, you probably have some or all of your links
with the full path name. You'll have to go back and change these links.
- It is recommended that you backup the folder C:\Program
Files\Home Realty Customizer\All Files.
